Alright y’all! I’m so stoked to be able to start what I hope will be an incredible annual tradition.
The time has come to unveil the details for the upcoming Women’s Teams of Two Competition at Refuge CrossFit on Saturday, 10/9. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be used to help breast cancer survivor, Michelle Chester and her husband Anthony Chester start their own CrossFit Affiliate outside of Austin, Texas. So, the general theme for the event will be PINK!
This event will have a maximum of 12 teams in each: Scaled, Intermediate, and RX. There will not be age group divisions (look for Masters and Teens age groups next year). Registration ends 9/10 and the cost is $130 per team.
After registration, you will receive an e-mail to determine wether you want a tank top or t-shirt. Tank tops will be the Bella and Canvas Racerback Crop. The T-shirt will be the Bella and Canvas Tri-Blend T-Shirt. Both Tank and Tee will be custom tie-dyed white and neon pink.
Your event staff will be comprised of men from the Refuge CrossFit community who will serve through event set-up, judging, and athlete support. Judges will have completed the online judges course from CrossFit. There will be four events, all of which will be released prior to the competition.
Movement standard for divisions…. These are general guidelines and don’t include every single movement from the competition. When workouts are released, division standards will also be released so feel free to hit me up with clarifying questions when those come out.
RX Division Standards:
Barbell Ground To Overhead 95#
Handstand Push Ups (at least one team member)
Bar Muscle Ups
DB Ground to OH 35#
Wall Ball 20# to a 9’ target
Intermediate Division Standards:
Barbell Ground To Overhead 65#
Handstand Push Ups using 2 ab Mats (at least one team member)
DB Ground to OH 35#
Wall Ball 14# to a 9’ target
Scaled Division Standards:
Barbell Ground To Overhead 45#
DB Push Press w/ 2@ 20# DB (at least one team member)
Jumping Pull Ups
DB Ground to OH 20#
Wall Ball 10# to a 9’ target
Prize packages will be legit! We’re talking prizes to another level, with some cool door prizes as well. There will also be an athlete chosen for a special “Spirit of the Games” Award. This athlete will be chosen by event staff and will be someone who has been an example throughout the competition of sportsmanship, kindness, and grace under competitive pressure.

Generally though, your sponsorship will get your business name some social media shout outs through our Facebook and Instagram pages, mentions during the event, your logo included on the event t-shirt, as well as logo on the 4’x10’ event banner that will remain hanging at Refuge CrossFit after the event.

Doors will open at 7:45 and team sign in will be held from 8:00-8:45. Event briefing will be held from 8:45-9:10 with the first event beginning at 9:30. Awards will be held at approximately 4pm. More logistical details to come.

After the team captain registers with your team name and pays for the team registration, you will be prompted to enter information for athlete number 2 (you will need email address, First and Last Name, shirt size, and date of birth).
